Sonova’s Issuance of Dual-Tranche Bonds

On 2 May 2022, Sonova Holding AG successfully placed CHF 450 million Bonds. The Bonds are governed by Swiss law and are to be listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange. The Bonds will be issued in two tranches, the first tranche with a duration until 2029 and a coupon of 1.050% and the second tranche with a duration until 2032 and a coupon of 1.400%.

    On 6 June 2025, the Swiss Federal Council published proposed amendments to the Swiss Capital Adequacy Ordinance, including „more precise information on the term and suspension of interest payments for AT1 capital instruments.“ The authors question the necessity of these changes and warn against using opaque terms and „hard triggers“ without any exemptions.
